I recently realized that I am not drawing as much as I should, I spend more time watching and reading how to do it rather than trying to do it, so from now on I will practice more every day and post here every Friday what I did in the week and stay all feel free to comment here.

Here are some gestures I made of imagination just for fun and head studies, another thing I realized is that I need to improve my construction, so I will also start doing box rotation training in perspective soon

It always a tricky balancing act no amount of resource will make you a good artist.But if you try to get there by trial and error it would be stupid just doing that and not using what people have already learn on the topic.A beginner artist who doesn't even know what are the basic fundamental would not be advise to just draw they would gain little to nothing they would still probably just keep drawing stick figure.But if your a intermediary artist there certainly more to gain from drawing and ajusting as you go what you know about the fundamental by refreshing your fundamental by watching a quick recap.The problem of watching video and reading is that your brain still feel like you did work in a sense you did you just created new neutral network but the information you store is quickly being thrown out the window if you don't use it.The problem is that if you do alot of one thing you become good at it for example watching video can become your comfort zone.I totally understand where you come from i think i been there myself it much less scary to convince yourself that you can now do master piece just because you seen people do it and they told you how it done but it an other story when it come to the doing and i heard it mainly as to do with observational skill , muscle memory and also the actual level of understanding of the fundamental you have.

it's like you said we have to find a balance, many of the skills and knowledge I got was thanks to Glenn Vilppu, but I feel like I'm spending a lot of time watching him do it instead of practicing with the classes. Vilppu has many years of practice and seeing him drawing looks easy is impressive as he manages to create extremely realistic figures but in reality he trained a lot and did a lot of drawing with a live model always putting the fundamentals into practice.

Yes i got the same feeling when watching Glenn really mesmerizing and you feel the weight of the years of training behind is every stroke.He as also a really rythemic way of visualizing is form.It like watching an athlete go through a serie of warm up.

You are really good at the anatomy and faces! All those studies are definitely paying off.
Gestures are looking nice as well, the movement is all there.

For this week i did a lot drawing of the torso and some gesture drawings, so i'm still focusing a lot in how the folds stretch and squash  i think that bring to draw a good sense of life .

sweet studies man! Major vilppu vibes on these, should dust of my vilppu books. Are you using these for illustrations (or other work) or are you getting sweet figurative and gesture knowledge?

my main objective at the moment is to have a good drawing base to be able to draw from imagination, so I train Vilppu's approach a lot about gesture and how one form connects with the other. It is a three-dimensional approach to thinking, so it requires a lot of training to understand how to do it, so I always put a lot of gesture here.

What’s up Vitor, it seems like you’re creating a strong foundation for yourself. The gestures are looking solid, you convey a lot of powerful motion and anatomy with simplicity.

I'm going to start studying more the structure of the feet and hands, I think it's the part of my drawing that I still need to improve a lot. I am already studying a little about feet and did some observation with a time of 5 min.

Looking nice! Its good that you try to apply your studies to imagination! Far to many people just fill up their sketchbooks with pages and pages of studies and nothing applied :)

many sketches you see here were made by imagination, I always try to balance my studies with application. I haven't done anything very finished yet because the final result is still not my main focus, my goal is to develop a good basis for drawing in imagination and for that I have to understand the process of how to make a good sketch, how to represent three-dimensional form , so sometimes my sketchbook ends up being a little repetitive I need to repeat a lot until I understand the process

a long time that I don’t post anything but keep studying the same things and drawing a lot in the traditional media I spent almost the whole year studying human figure, gesture, anatomy for the next year I intend to study a lot about design and painting and do a lot of dynamic sketch exercises for improve my lines and have a better understanding of basic and organic primitive forms.

  In this post there are some animal studies that I found interesting to compare animal anatomy with human natomy and a lot of sketches of human figure from imagination , books and video lessons

Can I ask have you been studying Vlippu, because you have similar mark-making. Lovin' the way you've been drawing the figures, there's so much live and personality to them.
