sketch thing for today
Love the whimsical brushy style. The creature has a good sense of bulk, and looks like it belongs in the desert you made for him.
Thanks Tygerson!
Playing with hue and saturation jitter cause they scare me

Cool stuff, pnate. Just be sure to be mindful of your values front to back while painting your environments or illustrations. Remember to have a clear separation for your midground, background and foreground elements so that they read easily from any distance.
Thanks Frenik! True words
Some characters I been working on recently. Will be in the mountains this weekend, so I'll be back to posting in two days
Man, it's real nice to see some more fully polished work come out again. I can tell you put a lot of work into those characters; really liking the female archerer's design the most out of all of them. Her pose is the most interesting also, it gives off a great sense of character.
There's one thing I noticed about the first guy in the cloak and that is it looks like one leg is longer than the other, and that his feet aren't touching the ground equally. Another thing being that you really able to strike a great pose with the archer, but the other chars are lacking that sort of life and personality to them.
I really find this bit of advice I'd taken from one of my teachers to be "cheesy" but I found it to be helpful as well. That is, when you're posing or designing a char like the ones you have here, it's good to ask yourself two things. "What are they thinking, and why do they feel that way?"
I personally have a real hard time with showing expression, maybe this may be of some use to you. Hope I didn't overkill on the crit, or anything. I'm really liking where your stuff is going. :D
Thanks man! Some really good points and advice you made, I appreciate it
Some quickies after getting back

I've been doing these color thumbs and comp studies with completely opaque brushes, so it's cool to see someone else do so as well. I've never painted traditionally, but I can't imagine it being too transparent, so it's nice to feel like I'm trying to have that feel to my work, ya know? Anyway, cool thumbs, looking forward to seeing more.
